Description of primary interest:
In the quarry in Przybędza there are outcrops of thick-bedded, medium- and fine-grain mica sandstones of Krosno Beds. These sandstones are laminated which is emphasized by accumulation of muscovite and carbonised plant detritus on lamina planes. Thicker beds of sandstones contain numerous shale fragments occurring are the bottom. The top surfaces of the sandstone beds are not very clear; the sandstones gradually change into mudstones, and then in sandy shales. The Krosno beds belong to the tectonic thrust of the Fore-Magura Series (Dukla Series). This tectonic element is composed with Palaeogene flysch bordered from the south the window of Żywiec built of sequences Subsilesian and Silesian nappes. The Oligocene Krosno Sandstones crop out in the old quarry (50 m long, 20 m high) in Przybędza has different sedimentary structures of turbidite well exposed by weathering. The convolution-bedding and cross-bedding are the most frequent and typical here. The shale menilite and marls occur as fragments above the sandstones. The landslide developed within the red and grey shales of Krosno Beds is situated in the vicinity of quarry.
