Summary  The species occurs locally in Poland; it is only commoner in the north-eastern and southern parts of the country. The largest continuous areas of its occurrence are in the Bia³owie¿a Forest and in the Sandomierz Basin. It lives in shadowed deciduous and mixed forests of natural character. The butterfly appears in June and July. The species is threatened by forest management in deciduous forests. The only effective conservation measure is maintenance of breeding habitat. It is protected by law in Poland.
