Large Copper
Czerwończyk nieparek

Familia  Lycaenidae
Ordo  Lepidoptera
Classis  Insecta
Typus  Arthropoda

Summary  The species occurs in the whole area of the country and is common. Its preferred habitats are riverside and lakeside areas, mostly wet meadows; it is found also in dry habitats, as a result of the adaptation of its caterpillars to foraging on Rumex species. It may be threatened due to intensification of the use of meadows. Conservation measures should focus on the maintenance of its breeding habitat in the appropriate state. It is protected by law in Poland.
