Leucospis dorsigera Fabricius, 1775

Osarek murarkowy

Familia  Leucospidae
Ordo  Hymenoptera
Classis  Insecta
Typus  Arthropoda

Summary  It is one of the most conspicuous representatives of the suprafamily Chalcidoidea, only sporadically noted. In Poland it has the northern limit of its range. In the years 1995-96 the occurrence of Leucospis dorsigera was confirmed in Lower and Upper Silesia and in the Western Beskid Mountains. The main threat to the existence of this species is loss of habitat, such as old dying trees in sunny places and traditional wooden buildings. A prerequisite for conservation of L. dorsigera is maintenance of these habitats. Not protected by law.
