Summary  A Central European species with a decreasing number of localities all over its range; in Poland its presence has recently been confirmed in very few sites. It is threatened by forest management: removal of dead wood on which it depends for reproduction and hibernation. It is recommended that the most prosperous populations should be identified and be protected in nature reserves. The species is protected by law.
