Leptothorax sordidulus Müller, 1923

Wysmuklica żałobna

Familia  Formicidae
Ordo  Hymenoptera
Classis  Insecta
Typus  Arthropoda

Summary  Leptothorax sordidulus is a rare and little known south-European stenotopic species connected with xerothermic habitat. In Poland it occurs as a subspecies, L. s. saxonicus, reported from the Ojców National Park where single worker ants were only found. Conservation efforts should focus on preventing the overgrowing of grassland communities on the southern slopes by dense shrub and arboreous vegetation.
