| Summary | A very rare species in Poland, occurring in small numbers (Polish population has been assessed at a few hundred individuals), persisting at several localities in the region of Lower Nida River Valley in the Małopolska Upland. It has recently been given legal protection. It is threatened with extinction in the whole of Europe, in Poland mainly due to isolation of the population and progressive degradation of Stipa grasslands. The only chance of saving the species is active protection of grassland habitat which it is associated with. | |
