| Summary | Epaphius rivularis is a quickly disappearing species in the uplands of Central Europe, and in the boreal zone its range is rapidly shrinking due to natural, accelerated by human activity, changes in the environment, resulting in drying up of wetland areas and marshy forests which are typical habitats of this species. A few current localities of the species are situated in the north-eastern regions of the country: in the Romincka Forest, Wigierski National Park and the Białowieża Forest. Not protected. Its main habitats should be protected more efficiently, particularly in the form of nature reserves and sites of ecological interest. | |
