Summary  The species occurs in many locations in the southern and eastern parts of Poland. Its preferred habitats are wet meadows and fens. Caterpillars live on Polygonum bistorta. The species is threatened due to intensification of the use of meadows, succession of shrub vegetation and drainage. Conservation efforts should focus on the maintenance of its breeding habitat in the appropriate state. It is protected by law in Poland.
