Summary  The species is known from one locality in Poland. Since 1976 no permanent population of Erebia sudetica has been found in the country. It lives in mountain forest meadows at altitudes of 600-1200 m a.s.l. Overgrowing of meadows poses extinction threat. In case of its rediscovery in Poland, attempts at its restitution should be undertaken in places of the former occurrence. It is protected by law in Poland.
