Summary | Leptothorax albipennis is a rare and poorly known European species, a stenotope connected with dry and warm grassland habitat. In Poland it only occurs in the Pieniny Mountains where is associated with xerothermic and rock grassland. A threat to its existence is posed by overgrowing of these habitats with shrubs and trees. However, active protection of tall-herb communities carried out in the Pieniny National Park prevents this phenomenon. | |
