| Summary | Eresus cinnaberinus is a very rare South-Palearctic species, known in Poland from a few isolated localities. It occurs on sunlit, scarcely vegetated psammophilous and xerothermic grasslands. It is threatened due to overgrowing of its habitats. Recommended active protection of the species should concentrate on controlling plant succession to maintain xerothermic grasslands. Monitoring of the existing populations is also postulated. | |
