Aedia funesta (Esper, 1786)

Familia  Noctuidae
Ordo  Lepidoptera
Classis  Insecta
Typus  Arthropoda

Summary  Aedia funesta is a stenotopic species, associated with xerothermic habitats of forest-steppe character. In Poland the number of its localities has been reduced mostly as the result of intensification of agriculture and afforestation of wasteland in the later part of the 20th century. A. funesta still persists at two localities: in the Pieniny Mountains and in Bielinek on the Odra River (a disjunctive locality). Conservation of the Polish populations of A. funesta needs the maintenance of its habitats in an appropriate state and protection of sites where the species occurs.
