| Summary | A very rare snail in Poland; it has only insular localities with small populations. These isolated sites are scattered along the foothills of the Sudetes and Carpathians, as well as along the Baltic Sea coast. All the localities are situated on the eastern and northern distribution border of the species. It is connected with warm and moist climate, in the past it probably had a wider distribution. Most localities are situated within the ruins of medieval castles, the snail live on walls and among plants which cover them. It is recommended that restoration of historical monuments should be carried out with regard to the needs of protection of the fauna and flora of old walls. The species is protected by law. | |
