Summary  The species occurs locally in Poland. It is found in the environment of wet forest meadows and clearings. The species is threatened by drainage and intensification of the use of wet meadows. Conservation of Euphydryas aurinia requires that wet meadows should be used extensively and that excessive expansion of trees and shrubs should be prevented. It is protected by law in Poland.
