| Summary | Keroplatus tipuloides belongs to very rare Diptera species; in Poland it was only found in the Góry Świętokrzyskie Mts. (Świętokrzyski National Park), Białowieża Forest and Borecka Forest. It is associated with natural old forests. Larvae live on and in fructifications of fungi from the genus Polyporaceae, above all on Fomes fomentarius. K. tipuloides is not protected by law in Poland though deserves species protection. | |
