Apamea platinea (Treitschke, 1825)

Sówka platynówka

Familia  Noctuidae
Ordo  Lepidoptera
Classis  Insecta
Typus  Arthropoda

Summary  Apamea platinea is a stenotopic species, connected with thermophilous rock grasslands on limestone substratum. In Poland the species is only known from Ojców and the Pieniny Mountains. However, recent investigations have not confirmed the occurrence of A. platinea in the Ojców National Park. The species is primarily threatened by changes in its habitats due to natural succession. It is recommended that active protective measures should be applied in the areas of A. platinea occurrence, to prevent the overgrowing of xerothermic grasslands by trees.
