Oligoneuriella pallida (Hagen, 1855)

Familia  Oligoneuriidae
Ordo  Ephemeroptera
Classis  Insecta
Typus  Arthropoda

Summary  Oligoneuriella pallida is a very rare, endangered with extinction South-Central European species, occurring in large lowland rivers with sandy bottom, covered by wood and branches of trees and vegetation. Larvae show preference for places with big flow velocity where they catch and filter suspended matter in water. In Poland it has been noted in small populations at a few scattered localities; there is no current data on its occurrence. A threat to this species is destruction of its natural habitats due to river regulation and water pollution; therefore, the only method of its conservation is protection of waters and places where it still exists. Not protected by law.
