Brachycoleus decolor Reuter, 1887

Familia  Miridae
Ordo  Hemiptera
Classis  Insecta
Typus  Arthropoda

Summary  It is one of the largest and rarest representatives of the family Miridae in Poland. In the post-war period it was only noted in the environs of Warszawa (locality has not been confirmed recently), in the environs of Mielnik on the Bug River and in the Biebrza River valley. Earlier it was also reported from Pomerania and Silesia. The shrinkage of the area of its occurrence is connected with habitat loss, intensification of agriculture and river regulation. It is suggested that places of Brachycoleus decolor occurrence should be protected.
