Ripart's Anomalous Blue
Modraszek gniady

Familia  Lycaenidae
Ordo  Lepidoptera
Classis  Insecta

Summary  The species occurs in a very limited area in southern Poland. This area is distant by almost 1000 km from the other places of its occurrence. It is associated with steppic meadows on sunlit hillocks and slopes. The species is threatened due to overgrowing of its breeding habitat by shrubs; isolation and small numbers contribute to this threat. It is recommended that the localities of Polyommatus ripartii occurrence should be protected in nature reserves where its habitats will be maintained in the appropriate state enabling its survival. It is protected by law in Poland.
